    And if they actually do something this year, lol, I’d find some room across the street at South Rushmore for some more. But let’s not uh, plan the parade as the saying goes. Being a Leafs fan, it’s much more productive making sure the golf clubs are in good shape lol.

    For the Hurricanes I think it’s easily Rod Brind’Amour and Ron Francis, but narrowing down the next two I’m finding a lot harder. Do you just slap Eric and Jordan Staal in there and call it a day? What about Justin Williams or Eric Cole? It’s maybe easier to hold off some of the current players like Svechnikov or Aho who don’t have a career’s body of work yet. Glen Wesley’s certainly in the conversation, but would you necessarily put him ahead of some of those others?

      Does Cam Ward get a shout maybe? The Eric/Jordan question is a good one, I’d probably give the nod to Eric because I feel like his highs were higher than Jordan’s.

        It’s hard with Cam; he was a backup that caught fire in the playoffs when they won the Cup and had a few fantastic years after that, followed by a lot of years where he was really a liability and maybe shouldn’t have stuck around. I’d have a hard time putting him in the top 4 all-time.

        With the Staals if I were to pick one I’d probably go with Eric, too, but I suppose that could change if Jordan captains this team to a Cup win. I feel like that needs to happen in the next couple years before he ends up retiring, and his value seems to be more elder statesman/mentor than actual production at this point. Still great at face offs, of course.

    Are we talking about players as they played for the team, or in their prime? If it’s the former, I’m going with:

    Rangers:

    • Jaromír Jágr
    • Mark Messier
    • Henrik Lundqvist
    • Mike Richter (Shestyorkin is an honourable mention, but I think he takes this spot if he wins a Cup)

    Caps:

    • Alexander Ovechkin
    • Nicklas Bäckström
    • Olaf Kolzig
    • Peter Bondra (imo an argument can be made for John Carlson here, maybe)

    Hawks:

    • Patrick Kane
    • Duncan Keith
    • Jonathan Toews
    • Stan Mikita

    As a Capitals fan I’d probably go:

    Ovechkin - Backstrom - Kolzig -

    Only three, because I can’t really claim to know enough about what came before 2005 to be honest with you. I think it’d probably be a fight between Langway, Gartner and Bondra though.

    I actually had a poster of my team’s Mt Rushmore when I was a kid. Nabokov, Damphousse, Ricci, and Marleau.

    Though nowadays, I would replace Damphousse and Ricci with Thornton and Pavelski.
