5 more days until a year! Today’s game is Halo 3. We just decided yesterday “Let’s play Halo 3 again”. And so we did. Never has a game made killing your friends more fun. Somehow it can simultaneously make it seem goofy as fuck and also Bad Ass.
Take for example this picture of me slamming into a Ghost my brother was driving (classic Halo 3. Never change.) Screenshot looks pretty damn cool, at least in my opinion. But then the scene where it happens was funny as fuck because i turned around and barreled past him after he asks me to pick him up.
Bonus points too because he landed like this.
There was another moment we got struck by a tank and the Warthog crushed us all to death. We got this screenshot of my Friend crushed under the warthog that looks like something out of a slapstick.
Moving on from dying in funny ways, the game somehow makes us all eachother’s greatest enemies and i love it for that. Later in that very same level my friend had a gravity hammer and was terrorizing us with it. I made the ultimate sacrifice by taking it and jumping off the edge to defeat the greatest enemy, my friend with the gravity hammer.
We did all the other levels, i swear, but Theater mode makes it so damn fun to get screenshots that i took a ton of just this level (i would have gotten a ton of “in the moment ones” but Halo doesnt seem to like Steam right now). Legit it’s such a weirdly well crafted tool for a fucking Xbox 360 game. It has no business being this good. My only complaint is the lack of a Rewind button. But still, for running on the 360 it’s damn impressive and i won’t cast any shame on it for the lack of that. So instead to end off tonight, here’s a screenshot of the 3 of us dying together so i don’t upload like 80 more 4K Uncompressed Images.
Halo 3 is hands down one of the best games ever made.
Unquestionably the best console shooter ever made, indisputably the best splitcreen co-op and multiplayer game ever made.
I understand pc gamers or people who didn’t grow up with an xbox might find those statements in their expansiveness hard to accept, no halo 3 was fun but it wasn’t that good though… to which the only correct answer is yes it is.
Miss those Halo parties
I don’t remember halo 3 too well, but I remember getting a 360 for it and I remember playing it on my 30” 1080i crt.
I was in university at the time, so I was more focused on other things at that time. Halo 1 was it for me.
Halo 1 and 2 are great, but hands down along every metric Halo 3 is better!
I get it, I LOVED Halo 1 too, I just think Bungie pulled out all of the stops for Halo 3.
Definitely Halo 1 had incredible vibe to it to, it is a gorgeous game in every meaning of the word.
Day 360 of sticking with anything is impressive. Thanks for sticking with this and posting content for us to consume. I appreciate it and hope you have something special planned for your anniversary.
Halo 3 is the only Halo game who’s campaign I have never beaten other than Infinite, which I haven’t touched and probably never will. I was working on fixing that, deciding to play through each Halo game in order of release on legendary, but I got side tracked. I had planned to first beat the whole Mass Effect trilogy on insanity before returning to Halo, as I’ve only every played the first game, but then I got side tracked again. Now I’m playing Kenshi. It’s no wonder I never finish any game series… I always have the desire to restart from the beginning of a series each time, but have an attention span this small.
