People forget that national guard isn’t a full time position. It’s usually one weekend a month and one week a year.
So calling them up is very disruptive to them, they have jobs and lives that are being massively interrupted by a call up. When it’s to deal with flooding or wild fires, or like any sort of actual emergency, that disruption is probably justified to them.
This is definitely pissing off a lot of them, especially given that they’re best positioned to see what a non issue the situation on the ground is.
That’s not even a drop in our budget though. He could do that every day for the rest of his term and it’s only around a billion. I wish our government cared about throwing away billions, but they consider it chump change. We’re fucked.

Pretty sure we’re still spending more money than was saved.
Don’t forget most of the “savings” actually cost us - like firing IRS workers who bring in like $10 for every $1 spent on salary, or canceling contracts where we already paid for things not received. .
The weird thing is, that’s off-brand for Trump. He prefers to not pay for things he did receive.
Stable genius

but at least they are spending it efficiently!
With gallons-per-mile vehicles!
I wonder how many people could have their medical debt erased with $1million per day…
