I like the mandate that CBC broadcasts need to be available in the hinterlands so all Canadians can be connected.
That seems like a reasonable requirement that helps to justify the necessity of the CBC
When the buy Canadian movement started I cancelled all of my streaming services, and went back to sailing the high C’s, I use a pihole so that I do not see ads on my internet stuff. I use Unwatched to watch youtube so that I am not paying Google with my eyeballs or wallet. I knew I was hurting CBC by watching their shows through their app with my pihole and watching their news segments with my youtube setup so I subscribed to CBC gem. Sure it does not cost as much as their swag but it is a reoccurring payment I give them.
I tried looking up “Unwatched” and I couldn’t find anything… Is it only available on Apple?
Similar to Tubular, I use PipePipe, a fork of NewPipe. I can’t live without it.
As someone who grew up in NYS, and spent just about every summer of his life camping lakeside in The Rideau Valley area, and who absolutely loathes the orange turd his idiot populace elected… Again…I very badly want one of the CBC test pattern shirts. Shipping is more than the cost of the shirt, however, so I guess I’m going to have to suck it up and wait for this stupid administration to be replaced three years from now. 🫤

I am a huge proponent for a publicly funded unbiased news source but unfortunately CBC is a corrupt shithole institution.
