Mississippi has been the site in recent years of other federal probes into local law enforcement agencies that have resulted in criminal charges and lengthy prison sentences.

If this administration hadn’t literally just cancelled federal consent decrees all over the country, this might seem a little less suspicious.

The episode exposed firsthand the consequences of distrust born from the abuse of power by law enforcement, he said.

…if only somebody had said something before. Too bad nobody ever bothered mentioning it, and you had no way of knowing until now.

I’m honestly very conflicted. No doubt there is insane corruption from local police in these areas. However, Mississippi stretching into Memphis is also where a federal task force is currently trying to take over U.S. territory on behalf of Trump.

Like I get the big fish (in their book) are the cops taking bribes from undercover feds, but what about all of the other police corruption that doesn’t involve you bribing a cop?

What about all the cases of police brutality that have been dropped bc Trump removed the consent decree? What about all the people that ended up dead while in police custody? When do those people get justice?

stretched into Memphis, Tennessee, where some of the officers are alleged to have accepted bribes in exchange for providing protection to undercover FBI agents posing as members of a Mexican drug cartel.

So, the administration is using the threats of Mexican Drug Cartels to justify ferocious ICE raids in Memphis, rounding up innocent people for deportation, while the whole time, the cops of Memphis were actually protecting those same Mexican Drug Cartels (they thought)?

I’ve been telling people that multiple police precincts across the country have been busted selling and distributing fentanyl the last few years and people think I’m a kook. One of them even reached National news.

Glad to see the FBI aren’t completely gutless this admin.

Although, the bulk of the work probably happened in the previous admin.

I think that we can start with giving credit, wherr it might be due.

It was a little showboatie getting Kash in there, but that’s what happens when you put a video blogger into a position of power.

Yet another thing that sucks about fascist corruption: you can’t even trust the good things the regime does to (a) be real and (b) not have some ulterior motive.

They lack any desire to do a truly good thing, and denying good things is what they strive for. So there is clearly something else going on.

No honor among thieves, there is no reason bad people can’t do bad things to other bad people.
