A Catholic run institution that abused children? That’s never happened before.
It’s pretty much every institution which has had charge over kids, particularly when the parents weren’t in a position to withdraw them from it. The Catholics have central organization and record-keeping, so we hear about it.
Sad as it is, you’re right, this isn’t an isolated thing. It happens far too often.
