I’m laughing at my ass off in all those conservative spaces going, “What’s a bit of felony?” And “All this for paying off a porn star?”

Like whatever stupid narrative you wanna make, the reality is clear… Diaper Don is a felon.

People don’t understand campaign finance law and how he broke the law 34 times. They just hear from the media that it’s for paying off a pornstar. Because one day they might be rich enough to have to pay off a pornstar with hush money.

    Polls are funny.

87 percent of Trump supporters don’t want him to end his campaign while 8 percent do.

So, there are people saying “Yeah, I support him, but I think he should drop out.”

Just like there are a not insubstantial number of people who are okay voting for Biden at the end of the day, but would like someone who isn’t quite so old. Just, you know, without the felony conviction.

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a chance of getting in another conviction from a completely separate trial before November? I think that would be the nail in the coffin for all those who are still on the fence and would likely be a significant swing in how the current polls are going. Then again I’m still wondering how anyone who isn’t at least a multimillionaire would even consider voting for a guy who keeps saying that poor people are too stupid to be anything except poor.

I think you misunderstand… the majority of people think he did what he did and is a felon.

The polls asking undecided voters how this affects their vote:

      • 8% said it decided them against voting for Trump
      • 17% said it decided them FOR voting for Trump
      • The rest didn’t care one way or the other.

Another conviction before the election probably won’t make a difference.

Are we reading the same article? I don’t see those numbers, I see:

A Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted between Thursday and Friday found that 5% of Republicans and 2% of independents said they are much less likely to vote for Trump because of the jury’s ruling. Meanwhile, 30% of Republicans and 13% of independents said the verdict made them much more likely to vote for Trump.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Former President Donald Trump has suffered losses in three separate polls in the 48 hours since his guilty verdict in his Manhattan criminal trial.

A New York jury on Thursday found Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records relating to a hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels by Trump’s then-lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen shortly before the 2016 presidential election.

The poll surveyed 2,220 registered voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Meanwhile, Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director, told Newsweek via email on Saturday, “President Trump has seen an outpouring support, which has led to polling increases and record-shattering fundraising numbers that include close to $53 million in just 24 hours, 30% of those who are new donors.”

Partners poll taken after Thursday’s verdict, which found that Trump’s approval rating was up by 6 percentage points compared to those who disapproved.

The poll surveyed 403 likely voters from Thursday to Friday and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.9 percent.

The original article contains 690 words, the summary contains 182 words. Saved 74%. I’m a bot and I’m open source!

I remember a few months ago talking to my husband’s uncle about the various indictments. His immediate reaction was “if that isn’t abuse of power [by Democrats], I don’t know what is.” I dearly wish I had read up on the indictments beforehand so I could have quizzed him a bit. Maybe he would be a little less hasty about abuse of power accusations if he knew the FBI had a recording of Trump saying he shouldn’t be in possession of certain classified documents or that he knowingly hid documents marked as classified for months in unsecured areas. Alas.
