Idk if it’s a real quote but I got a new plan, listen: “the way to crush the burgeoise is to grind them.”

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Top posts on Lemmy have something like 10 billion upvotes, but only 7 comments.
7·11日前Less bots maybe? I’ve noticed this too and it triggers something in me because on reddit that was always a red flag of upvote bots or whatever cheating they used. I don’t think people use those here, but there’s also no bots that comment garbage.
I have not thought about this story in years and now thanks to you I will be laughing sporadically probably for the next few days.
Well that looks like an interesting link that I will never click on. Don’t feel like crying today, thanks.
Sometimes I see a dumb post and get mad that I’m seeing a dumb post and then I notice what community its in and I go oh yeah that’s a good shitpost.
Love and hate shitpost relationship :/
Anyway, good shitpost. Dumb boomer message.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Canada Post and union reach deal in principle to end strike
4·15日前The thing you are missing is that Canada Post delivers parcels to many remote communities that amazon and other parcel delivery services don’t reach.
Dwayne Jones, National President of CPAA, noted that many rural post offices are in locations without road access, so “the options for sending and receiving necessities of life are much more limited.” Mr. Brisson and Jan Simpson, National President of CUPW, both explained that their private-sector competitors often do not serve these communities because the costs outweigh the benefits. In fact, they both indicated that Canada Post’s competitors often rely on the Crown corporation for last-mile deliveries in rural and remote areas of the country.
CANADA’S POSTAL SERVICE: A LIFELINE FOR RURAL AND REMOTE COMMUNITIES .
Fuck those people then? Fuck the many indigenous (and non indigenous) communities that have no other accessible connections to large cities and government services?
Yes, structural change to their business model is absolutely required. Screwing over your essential workers should not be a part of that change.

321·16日前The government argues that the changes are necessary to stop Canada Post from losing so much money.
Canada is losing money by paying $400k a year to the PM and $300k for each party leader. We need to remove them so we don’t lose so much money. See how stupid that sounds.
Ffs, public services aren’t meant to make a profit. They’re a service.
In some cases sure, but there are places that require emergency food supplies because their local sources have been destroyed (usually by war or colonization/genocide), so you need to be able to feed people in the interim while they rebuild their means of food production.
Nobody else got the lil heart flowers?

I hate that I had a brief moment where I wasn’t sure if you were being sarcastic.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Alberta to invoke notwithstanding clause to send striking teachers back to work
14·1か月前Idk if it would work the same way but when this happened in BC many years ago and the gov tried to impose penalties on the teacher’s union, the union took them to court and won all of that money back.
