help-circle

  • Unfortunately i do work for a targeted company (we do a lot of secret squirrel stuff) in south East Asia.

We get a lot of attacks.

I was looking at the attack and malware they inject (there is a blog post link on the notepad++ notice) which pointed out how the attack worked. Apparently they run a service called bluetoothservice.exe. I didn’t see anything like that or any the other stuff they said gets created.

But then again finding malware isn’t my bag so who knows.

Pretty sure my updates came via nanite installer so I’m hoping I wasn’t targeted.

  • I worked at a dot com and although I was fairly young at the time I was promoted quickly to management (we had several thousand employees at the time).

When it all came falling down and we were all looking at jobs at the sametime I was being asked by proespective employers “was John Smith really General Manager of customer service”?

The vast majority were customer service monkeys padding the fuck out of their resumes.

That said hate the game not the player. I always nodded and said yes.

Fuck em if they can’t do their own verification work.

  • Considering his lack of public statements and actual support for Israel and zionism I’d argue your wrong.

Conservatively moderating a shit show that is Israeli subject matter is one thing (and I’ve been banned from reddit for pointing out how bat shit insane zionism is) but actively supporting the regime is a completely different thing.

  • Even 200k is in the corporate space fairly beign.

One company I worked was paying out that sort of money for basic worker bees who had hit the 80 week max redundancy pay out point (20 years tenure).

Every restructure meeting was the strangest thing I’ve ever been to where people were just so depressed and upset at not being made redundant.

So yeah $200k wasn’t unusual (when all your other benefits were paid out, including sick leave that fricken accrued in perpetuity)

I imagine these health care workers and managers had a good union.

  • The fact that you, a human, asked this question, and got a variety of human replies is why I would say no.

Well they are on the fediverse/lemmy. It’s not dead, yet, simply because there aren’t enough users to create a RoI for bot/karma farming in order to push advertising and disinformation to the top.

I recently saw an internal report estimating that dark fibre in a particular country needed to increase several hundred percent in order to meet the demand from data centre and large facilities transmission needs.

Much of this being built for the AI bubble boom. When the next generation of DC come online the cost of per bot will continue to tumble to the point where it won’t cost much to turn even Lemmy into a bot ridden wasteland.

  • And that only matters if it is enforced.

So my understanding of the creation of the US constitution was most of the framers were the oligarchs of their day. Rich, businessmen, landowners, brewers and so on.

They, their money and power, was directly affected by the British attempts to tax them. So they came up with a social contract (albeit a broken one, riddled with contradictions and errors (all men, ahem, not black, are, apparently, created equal)) in order to convince a whole lotta people to put their lives on the line to fight for their money freedom.

The people who should be leading the US into grinding general strikes, the democrat party, and its money men (entertainers, Hollywood and a host of corporations) have yet to have their money affected by Trump and his oligarchs/fascists.

Until they are you are on your own

Which is why a grass root movement needs to start pushing for a general strike, a national, union for the people, not based on employment that supports and funds front line protesters and people in critical jobs, to strike without losing their homes and families.

There is a wealth of funds, hell a single multi millioniare could be setting up food and support for large scale protests. A dozen multi millioniares in the 100m range could be funding a huge social moment. Yet their fucking cowards.

Until their doors are kicked in they won’t give a shit. Which is why I’ve stopped watching US anti Trump shows like Colbert, Seth and Stewart.

They made millions and millions of dollars warning us about trump, speaking truth to what mainstream politicians refused to say let alone do something about. Yet they won’t speak truth that justice, freedom and equality are no longer universal anymore. The social contract is being ripped up.

Which is why you can’t leave it up to anyone who claimed to be a leader.

Start organising. Start meeting with your neighbours, community and start finding like minded people

  • What shits me with Linux commands is they don’t make sense.

Copy, diskpart, dir and so on make sense.

    But Linux. Bah.

Cp, lsblk (sudo fdisk -l) and ls.

I know it’s an a old dog thing but having used dos and windows command line for over 50 years it just makes me so frustrated to see Linux commands and their switches, syntax and parameters so obtusely obscure, purposeful, unnecessarily filled with complex jargon.

I write sql and python so I’m not unused to this sort of world but everytime I use Linux I find the command line, the supposedly masterful feature of the OS, just painfully, unnecessarily, poorly designed.

copying and pasting strange commands from strangers on old forum posts)

Yes exactly the only way to obtain the help is via weird forums where you waste hours reading posts from people trying to do basic shit. Half the time it’s for the wrong distro, version or whatever bullshit problem you’ve got.

Like godforbid you want to mount a drive that won’t mount in the GUI version of whatever kernal distro ver you end up getting.

You end up writing ridiculously long commands to do shit I can do in a handful of words that make sense in plain English.

Just shits me that MS is hellbent on enshitificating windows, forcing us to find alt.

What choice do we have anymore

  • I think the following is clear

    • Epstein was a pimp
    • he procured children and women to be used in awful, highly illegal acts
    • he recorded these acts, using the information to extort and blackmail the rich into various schemes and scams, not to mention for information
    • this explains how his net worth / wealth jumped several times, especially when he was young and somehow made millions with no clear explanation, at the time, as to where he got the money from.
    • we have a huge amount of information from the victims that he used girls as currency
    • considering the circles that Epstein, the people he was involved in, including heads of state, former heads of state, politicians, factional powerbrokers, scientists, actors, celebrities and a multitude of oligarchs.

These are the circles intelligence agencies walk in. But who he was involved with is probably gonna be harder to work out.
