Not your keys, not your crypto. If you do not have your wallet and keys on a device you control, then you don’t actually own crypto.

Plus, there’s something to be said for efficiency. Text takes up very little disk space, where video takes up a lot of disk space. I hear of people that use like a terabyte worth of data per month on their internet connections. And personally, I can’t even get over 100 gigs, even with downloading books and watching some YouTube(99% audio only).
Why exactly am I not surprised? When you don’t have open source stuff, you don’t own your shit. And this is a perfect example of it.
Oh wow, then you’ve managed to break it more than I have ever broken a device. Oopse
Can you get fixed rate mortgages there? I’m here in the United States and when I bought a house a couple of years ago, I specifically demanded to get a fixed rate mortgage, even though I knew it would cost slightly more in percentage terms. I knew that I wouldn’t be subject to the whims of the jacking around of the central banks and rates.
Will it boot into fast boot when starting up with like pressing the volume up or volume down key at boot? Because as long as you can get into fast boot, you can fix it.
As somebody who’s fucked up with custom ROMs several times and made bricks out of my phone, they are soft bricks and can be fixed. Sometimes it’s not easy, but it can be fixed.
Very true
Because to go to a clearnet website through the tor network, you have three hops. And to go to a hidden service, you have six hops.
Clearnet: You, guard middle, exit, website <-> website, exit, middle, guard, you
Onion service You, guard, middle, your rendezvous, service rendezvous, service middle, service guard, service <-> service guard, service middle, service rendezvous, your rendezvous, your middle, your guard, you.
All those hops add latency because of having to traverse anywhere between three and six different networks over the internet.
As much as it slows down the internet, it seems like it might be worth it to just start using tor at all times for everything.
Gold has kept up. So in gold terms its the same as it was. Inflation is not items getting more expensive its the value of your fiat decreasing. The US dollar haams only existed completely depegged from gold for 53 years and yet has lost almost all its purchasing power in that time frame.
I live on government assistance due to disability so i dont make much and yet i am perfectly capable of saving money every single month. I promise it is doable.
Then the people who are in that situation and don’t have to be are irresponsible. I understand some people are in that situation and can’t avoid it. But there’s a lot of people who live paycheck to paycheck because they buy cigarettes and beer and smartphones and other things that they don’t need but that they want. I’m not against buying the things you want to have in life. What I am against is not having any kind of fallback in case of an emergency because emergencies do happen.
Maybe don’t hold your wealth in a constantly inflating fiat currency and only switch back when you need to purchase something. As an example, instead of holding everything you own in fiat currency, hold what you own in gold, or silver, and then have just a couple of months worth of your fiat expenses at any one time in fiat. That way, most of your net worth is in something that is not losing value constantly.
This is what fiat currency, corruption, and price controls lead to.
MoneroTalk and MoneroTopia. The hosts and guests passionately care about human freedom through economic freedom and it’s a really wonderful podcast.
This exactly.
Most likely it’s just Reddit making their service shit. I stopped using it last year and blocked it from all search results and now don’t have to worry about it because Google is the only one that can search it anyway and I haven’t used Google in years.
That’s not personally something I’ve ever seen, but if you know of any good communities that add alt text to their memes, I would be interested in at least taking a look. It’s not the memes themselves that I have the problem with, it’s the fact that they are images, and I’ve never seen a single one described unless I’ve asked for it.
Weird, I do not know how I missed this publication entirely because I’ve been reading technical reviews for a long time.
Edit: Perhaps it’s because it’s more hardware-based and I am more of a software person.
