If it helps, I thought I wouldn’t like it as well for the same reason but gave it a try based on reviews I was seeing. I am very glad that I did.
I’m now looking into giving their previous game a try because I think I will like that as well.
That game was fun over all. I was a bit disappointed with some aspects of the story and characters, but I would need to go into spoilers to discuss that here.

Doesn’t that game stream at least some of the data directly from MS? I thought I read that it has some weird hybrid local and cloud streaming configuration to offload some of it to their servers.
It’s actually a pretty decent experience on a Steam Deck. I definitely prefer having a larger screen, but it’s very playable.
Newer handhelds might have more power, but I still think the Deck is the best value for what it offers.
