Hello. The past few months Ive been almost exclusively playing fantasy and survival games, so much so that I need a break from them.
Looking for single player FPS recommendations with controller support from the last decade. A good story is preferred.
Games Ive played:
- Warframe (dont ask. The lore is okay-ish. I stayed for friends).
- Titanfall 2. (PEAK)
- Apex Legends (Briefly. The sweatiness and timed lore turned me off).
- Doom 2016 (Dropped this, sadly. Gunplay and parkour was AWESOME, but the whole devil worship thing really turned me off).
- Dying Light 1. (Okay Story. Awesome fighting. Never played 2 because of the whole controversy with the
story director. EDIT: Story writer, not director) - The Metro Series. 1, 2 and Exodus. (Slightly weak lore. Still alot of fun).
Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: regarding Dying Light:

Edit: Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Currently gonna try:
- The Half Life Series.
- Halo
- Wolfenstein: New Order.
Off topic, but this game is the exact opposite of devil worship. The primary gameplay is to travel to Hell and kill demons.
Should have been clearer. The devil worshippers themselves creeped me out way too much for me to continue.
In-game or real life? Lol
I don’t remember any controversy surrounding DOOM and satanists irl
I get really invested in what I play. So long as background lore is consistent, I end making my own char lore and having a blast with it. The cult, as shown ingame, just really creeped me out.
Ah, I could see that. It does have quite a bit of such things.
