I’m looking for books, games, movies, etc. that are set in a relatable, high-tech post-capitalist solarpunk world.

I’ve got a few of the most popular novels, but I’m looking especially for ones that I haven’t seen.

There are a lot of stories within anthologies, Solarpunk magazine, and the Grist’s 2200 collections that I haven’t seen before, for instance.

Can folks throw out suggestions that fit this tone across any media? Bonus points if it could be described as action/adventure.

That’s a good one. I actually just started reading this (like, I’m on chapter 3) and then I heard the author on the Solarpunk Now! podcast, and it sounds like the book goes some amazing places.

Anno 2070 has kindoff a Solarpunk vibe if you play the ecos or a Cyberpunk if you play the tycoons. The setting is not 100% on point, but it is still a great SP game Terra Nil is a Solarpunk game where you have to regreen the earth. Tomorrow Land is really good film about the hope we need to create a better society

Those are some really interesting recommendations.

I think I might watch Tomorrowland tonight. I’ve heard a few people bring it up, and I’m really curious to see what I think of it.

I’m currently reading the Glass and Gardens solarpunk anthology (thanks for the reminder) and I’ll let you know if I think it’s a good fit for FA! So far I’ve read two of the stories and liked one quite a bit.

Nice. There’s actually a bunch in that series, I think. Glass and Gardens: Summer; Glass and Gardens: Winter; and so on.

Do you know which one it is?
