    If you’re buying a vintage car with the expectation that someone else is going to keep it running, you bought a vintage car for all the wrong reasons.

      the article is more about restoring old cars than keeping them running, it’s an entirely different issue.

        I think the point still stands. We’re reaching a point here soon where a lot of the luxury jobs like this are going to be exactly that. You won’t be able to go to specialists for a lot of things because they won’t be around. They’ll either be working less fulfilling jobs or they’ll be retired because most people won’t be able to afford their work. The next several years or more are going to kill the enthusiast market because it’s going to kill enthusiasm itself.
