It’s never too late to vote, because there are always been new issues and new candidates in new elections. Vote.

By choosing not to vote, you are abandoned any right to complain about literally anything. Why? Because you had your chance to have your say, and you decided it wasn’t worth it. So why should anyone listen to you now?

Voting doesn’t guarantee your preferred outcome. But it does guarantee is that, at least, you participated in your voice with her. You may not have been taught that in school, but the reality is that such freedoms are extremely rare, and are for fathers fought a horribly bloody war to even get these rights.

What a shame, if it was all for nothing.

As I wrote in my comment, “I’m not saying that you shouldn’t vote at all” (I did edit that in for the obviously necessary clarification).

Voting is still a net positive, but don’t delude yourself into thinking it’s sufficient in any way. At this point, there’s no way that Trump’s government is going to allow itself to get voted out.

these people are dangerously delusional and personally i’m tired of treating them with kid gloves. they still defend the system because they believe they are on the receiving end of its benefits for following the structure correctly. they think there’s validity in defending our broken process because it can be repaired. it can’t be repaired. we have an oligarchy.

If you believe this, below your original comment instead of saying what you said, edit it and say “yes, I agree, but if you want to do more you can…”

Unless you’re full of shit and just want to be a contrarian at best, or opposition behind the guise of being correct at worst.

No, you just expressed pretty clearly that you think voting is worthless.

Seriously, why not just hand the power over to the fascists instead of fighting at all?

        lol.

You sound like an angry child, who would rather moan and whine then actually take any action to improve your situation. grow up. “Democracy” doesn’t mean you get whatever you want.

I think you don’t understand how broken American democracy is. I would suggest you look into Princeton’s study on Democracy, the largest ever study of electoral inputs and outcomes.

Their results are rather shocking, including one of the most haunting charts I have ever seen:

This gigantic, years-long study shows that if 10% of Americans support a bill it has a 30% chance to pass, and if 90% of Americans support a bill, it still has that same 30% chance to pass.

Tldr: the opinion of the voters in America have no influence on its government. Votes don’t matter, only money counts. Your civic duties go much further than a mere vote.

I’ve voted in every election I’ve been eligible for, and because of the first past the post system it’s never once meant a fucking thing. I’m going to continue to vote but I think maybe it’s time to consider that just telling people to vote is idiocy, it’s that stupid Einstein quote about the definition of insanity, and that rhetoric has in no uncertain terms lead us here, and I really wish you people would at least acknowledge that shit.

I get that you’re frustrated, but don’t take it out on me. I didn’t fuck up voting in this country, so I don’t deserve your ire.

Do you want voting to be better and more meaningful in this country? Then vote for that! March for it! demand it.

But don’t whine to me that telling you to vote doesn’t get you what you want. It’s not about you.

I’m taking it out on you because you’re the one pushing a rhetoric that pisses me off, and now you’re being obtuse about it.
