The Thunderdome is one of the oldest and biggest Hardcore Techno Festivals in the world. Naturally it is not something that is very political, but this year the people behind it decided to go political and make a statement against the uprise of right wing ideologist, the genocide in Gaza and the uprise of war in general (you can see all of this in the linked trailer).
Even tho it is a bit sad, that they did not teaser the official anthem for this years event, but I Am absolutely willing to ignore this, because the statement being made in the trailer weighs much more than this. I Am absolutely glad to see such big players as them position themselves and it kinda shows how bad it really is, if this quite unpolitical event decides to go political and not duck away from even in left circles quite controversial thematics like the genocide in Gaza.
This is my first post here, so I dont really know if this is the right Community for this, but I really wanted to share this.
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 I think they always had a strong stance against hate. I remember when i first saw some Thunderdome promo material from the 90s emphasising No hate or nazis allowed. For me gabber was always about expressing frustration towards things I can’t change aka fck the system and i think they’re still representing that
No, this is a good post. I love to see it. thanks for being here, basshead \m/
