The closest McDonald’s to me has a local BBQ joint right next to it at about the same price point. There’s zero value prop, but these dumb-dumbs had to realize it after they lost a shitload of customers.

fast food as a whole is just baffling to me at this point, especially since frozen meals that taste good and are of perfectly decent quality exist.

Why the fuck would i spend at least 8€ on a burger meal when i could buy literally a fucking kilogram of food for that same price? And it’s not like fast food is faster, that 1kg bag of hash takes 10 minutes in a skillet, even with mcdonald’s being 500 fucking meters from my house it’s faster and more convenient for me to just cook the hash than it is to travel to mcdonalds, wait for the food, and take it back home (which is annoying anyways and means the food will have gone slightly cold).

And no, cleaning the dishes isn’t some ardous task, get one of those sponges with a hollow handle you fill with soap, it takes 30 seconds to rub down the skillet, plate, and cutlery and it’s not even remotely messy.

Literally the only thing I’ll go there for is a happy meal for the kids on very rare occasion if I’m in a pinch.

It’s incredible McDonalds lasted that long.

Even a decade or two ago, I just don’t get why people would choose McD in that situation. Maybe if you’re in a rush, I guess? And it was probably cheaper than BBQ back then, I suppose.
