    Had 2 encounters that pretty much made my mind up about americans.

    It was the early 70’s, I was 10 or so and at a Sears in Ft. Pierce Fla. My mom had place in Jensen Beach. I was trying on snorkels. Kid around my age came up to me and we talked for a bit . I said I was from Canada, he said do you breathe air in Canada.

    Second was 5 yrs or so later and I was partying with a group of peers. I mentioned I would feel a tinnier bit safer if the nuclear reactor at Ft. Pierce was a Candu reactor. A guy asked what that was. Said it’s Canada’s version of a nuclear reactor which is supposed to be safer than other reactors. This guy immediately says oh bullshit, if it was a better reactor it would be built by us americans and we would have sold it to you.

    Set the tone of what I thought of americans for the rest of my life.

    I stopped going there soon after as I would usually drive down and the highways became littered with dangerous stuff like couches and other car ruining type stuff.
