What the fuck is “yet” doing in a professional news hed here? Even if it were in the direct opening quote, it can be truncated. But this frames the story as a fait accompli that, oh yes, it will be found.

Even odder is this hews to the propaganda that it can’t have been one guy who was pissed, it must be left-wing groups (plural)! That’s the only explanation!

Have you ever tried to get left-wing college groups to come together? I mean, shit, you can’t have vegetarians and vegans share a buffet line. There’s no fucking way this was a carefully coordinated left-wing plot.

For one thing, he escaped on foot. Assassination 098 calls for a getaway car and driver so that you don’t have to wrap your rifle in a towel, throw it in the woods and hope the cops don’t find it until you fucking return to the scene of the crime the next day. This is not Oceans 11, leftist edition.

Is the tie not that he murdered a right-wing mouthpiece? Is there any other motive? Did he know the guy personally? Did Charlie fuck his wife?

      Ties to groups, not motives.

Even motives aren’t that clear-cut, however. There’s significant infighting between rival far-right influencers. They are effectively cults. It’s also possible for a center-right person to see Kirk as a face of the Republican shift from conservative to fascist.

        Ties to groups, not motives.

What’s the difference? Being a part of a group is a motive. You’ve said as much in your next sentence:

There’s significant infighting between rival far-right influencers
