Thanks I know what it means but there is no existing antifa group, right? I understand a lot of people on lemmy consider themselves anti-facist and that’s nice but they’re not members of an organized group.
What I’m getting at is the executive order is targeting something that doesn’t actually exist irl. I’m guessing this EO is a reaction to protestors in Oregon during Trump’s first term who were wearing masks and calling themselves antifa. Was it a real organization then? Seemed like a bunch of kids to me with no actual leadership structure.
There actually are many groups in the US which have “Antifa” in their name: for instance Rose City Antifa, NYC Antifa, Philly Antifa, Atlanta Antifa, among many others. Obviously this new (completely unprecedented btw) “domestic terrorist organization” designation is also going to be used against many people who aren’t affiliated with any such group.
Does antifi have any real organization? It’s not a real thing is it?

There are many antifa groups. Anti fascist action is best preformed in groups. It’s dangerous work.
