Yeah and there’s a third that didn’t vote. So that’s 2/3 of the US that’s too ignorant, too stupid, too lazy, or too greedy to oppose fascism.

Yup, every day I see leftist memes that hate on liberals so much they are indistinguishable from MAGA memes. The monetized “socialist” influencers have successfully neutralized leftism as an effective politcal force.

Pretty much the case. Even those on the left want to blame Democrats for the things Trump is doing. Like it should’ve been obvious in 2016 this guy shouldn’t be President. After Jan 6 he should’ve been thrown in prison. The US has become a country of whiny children crying about how mommy and daddy Democrats aren’t protecting them from the worst impulses created by the horrible culture the countries decayed into. Without realizing the reason you hate the Democratic party is because you’ve become a culture that hates democracy in general.

Democrats last president in between Trump was for segregating schools because he did not want his kid going to schools like that

then later after that same kid grew up and went to jail his daddy pardoned him

            make it make sense

One of those things happened in the 70s and the other is indefensible.

Trump has done worse things almost daily though so what the fuck is your point

“Don’t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative.” - Joe Biden

Democracy is not a great system, it’s just better than the alternatives. In a democracy you aren’t going to have something perfect on the ballot that you can mark an X beside and all problems are solved forever. In a democracy it’s you’re duty as a citizen to keep informed and prevent the worst people from getting into power. Joe Biden wasn’t a saint, neither was Obama, or Clinton, or anyone else. What matters is using your vote to get the best possible outcome result possible from every given election. The best possible result may not be great, but you’re preventing something even worse. The constitution is just a piece of paper, it doesn’t protect your rights, your vote protects your rights. That healthcare you want, isn’t going to happen when you take a principled stand by not voting for anything less than perfection, in fact you’ll probably lose what little you have.

You’re looking at all the faults of Biden but he did a lot to promote labour unions, got the ball rolling on anti-trust on corporations, protected the meager healthcare you have, repaired relations with other countries, and was actually a good steward of the economy considering the circumstances (and despite the media narrative). Was he perfect? No. Would Kamal been perfect? Nope. But what small progress was made is lost now and you’re descending into becoming a fascist hellhole because you lacked the pragmatism to accept anyone that didn’t pass your bullshit purity test.

And you’re whinging about him pardoning his son? Have you been living under a rock? Trump is prosecuting anyone and everyone that ever said anything negative about him. People complain about old Joe being senile (and maybe he was) but even he had the wherewithal to now where things were going more than you do. Everyone knew Trump was going to turn the DOJ into his own personal attack squad except for you apparently.

this is a pretty brain dead take seeing as how the average voter can effect zero of those issues. this is such a complicated issue from pretty much every angle possible and with the knuckle dragger OC and now your knuckle dragging takes its really just not worth the effort to try to coerce some empathy out of anyone. youre making a lot of generalizations and honestly can get fucked lol

              Talk about brain dead.

No I don’t think he is. But if Kamala was elected nothing would change.

4 more years of reaching across the aisle and pretending that the Republicans are operating in good faith until they try again to destroy democracy 4 years later

So you prefer masked men abducting people off the street to how it was last year?

Progess takes a lot more time than regression. You think improving government should be like ordering something off of Amazon, just check a box and have it the next day. That’s not how things work, and if you were really dedicated to change you’d be willing to vote in every election (including the primaries) to get that change. The anti-abortion crowd are the minority but they got what they wanted by doing this for decades. You’re not getting what you want because you’re just not as dedicated as they are. Democracy requires work to get what you want, and if you’re not even bothering to vote you’re conceding governing to those that are way more dedicated to their causes than you are.

It’s not like the Democrats have just begun ignoring the working class, they have been behaving this way for decades. Why would I expect them to change now or to protect anyone from fascism now or in the future?

how is it not how democracy works? did i say percentage of the country’s voters? and if youre implying that democracy means majority gets power then youre not very well informed on american democracy bc america has the electoral college where even a majority of ppl voting a certain way could be not enough

In most places the two are the same and assumed to be the same.

I realize that this is not the case in USA and I also realize that America voting is very complicated

What we then can agree on is that American democracy is not democratic witch maybe makes it even more depressing

realize he mentioned the defunding of social things like education

point when a person’s vote is not technically their vote through use of their own agency is when the owner class owns what is in their minds

what is in their minds gets put their first before school through owner class made toys etcetera, and then through schools that use owner class learning materials that were paid for using taxpayers’ dollars ours, then through the rest of their lives they consume media, food, etcetera all produced and owned by the owner class
