The “common sense” answer is generally broad and vague. It purposefully avoids nuance and reality. “If I want to build a garage on my property, why does the government need to be involved?” That person doesn’t think of the drug dealer doing that to cook meth right next door and possibly blow up the block or the idiot that doesn’t understand how to build a structure and it collapses in the first stiff wind.
