it takes a lot of scientific literacy to effectively communicate the results of 1 research paper to the public. most people writing these communications lack the required literacy or intentionally overstate the current status. Furthermore, this paperay not be reproducable and will fade to history, or it could be the cornerstone of future drug development and have 100+ citations in 3 years. as it is, we simply don’t know where the continued research will lead, and this can cause “breakthrough fatigue” to the general public, and reduce public trust in science.
