I saw them on tour for this album and I think it was just the wrong venue for them entirely. It was at the Orange Peel in Asheville NC and it just didn’t click like I was expecting, that place is much more suited to raves and hard rock shows. GYBE feels like you should see them in a more intimate setting, like a jazz club or something.

It was still cool, just not as cool as id hoped =/

Saw them at a tiny hole in the wall pub nearby known for underground shows with surprisingly big headliners (Slipknot stopped by on a whim a couple years ago, $9 tickets for the lucky fuckers who heard in time). Outdoor show, standing room only, but such an intimate venue that the people in the back were still only like 60ft from the band. I showed up early, saw the whole show from 10ft away. Absolutely magical, bought 3 albums at the table.

yea, the room can make all the difference. I was very fortunate, got to see them in a beautiful theater setting and even got some inside info from a local about where to sit for the best sound, it was incredible.

it was even better. the live imagery was on film as well, they had someone looping and switching the visuals live by hand, it was so fucking cool.
