They’ve just changed the format of Reddit and now there is no way to set the country for feeds. It just uses “everywhere” which is 90% Indian bot posts. I can’t really use old Reddit on my phone.

    I have always theorised that direct enshittification of social media apps is part of their research. They’re testing what actually gets people to stop using the app or makes it unusable, so they can sell it to other companies to inform how lazy they can be when designing new products.

    Instagram did this all the time, it was like a weekly thing that they would completely change the way yor message inbox worked.

    The only logical explanations are:

    A) that “pushing your buttons” is of value to them, i.e my market research theory,

    or

    B) Zuckerberg gave a young relative the job designing UI but it’s already a finished product so they have no way to build their portfolio unless they destroy the app over and over again.
