Thi Dua Vang legally came to the U.S. two years ago. So when ICE showed up, she thought it must have been a mistake.

Daily tasks, like grocery shopping, have come to a standstill for Thi Dua Vang and her husband, A Pao Giang.

On Monday, community members dropped off fresh food for the family. Vang — despite being in the country legally — is afraid to go outside after ICE agents detained her in Minnesota and sent her to Texas for nearly two weeks.

On the morning of Jan. 8, their son opened the door to their St. Paul home but was unaware that it was ICE.
