A 23-year-old American was shot last March in South Padre Island. ICE’s involvement in the shooting was not disclosed until this week.

I have to wonder how many more murders ICE is covering up.

Yeah but we have Rodney King and the countless others. Police brutality doesnt mean much to when it happens to the minority

Do you not remember what happened after the the acquittal of the officers that brutally beat King? The LA riots happened. The video was what catalyzed so many to action even when the truth of police brutality was well known before that.

This is true of Eric Garner which was also caught on video and lead to large demonstrations.

And again with Philando Castile where the video showed Castile totally complying with officer orders, yet was still shot dead by that police officer. Again demonstrations against police brutality.

Its the video that makes people take notice. Sadly, it doesn’t sound like we have video of Ruben Ray Martinez final moments yet.

Rodney King being brutally assaulted by LAPD was also caught on film, and it also made huge waves nationwide. Two of those officers went to prison and Rodney King was awarded $4 million in damages

But how many other Black and Brown people have been murdered by cops with or without video and nothing happens? Too many to count is my guess.

Video doesn’t mean cops are charged. It just means there’s video that can mean nothing, and cops are ‘vindicated’ for murdering whomever they want.

No one’s claiming black and brown people aren’t disproportionately targeted by law enforcement. I’m saying the argument that “no one cares when it’s a brown person” is patently false, and that the government-sponsored murders that occur on video are the ones that elicit a strong reaction, regardless of skin color.

If ppl cared so much it wouldn’t keep happening. Its completely disingenuous to pretend that black/brown life isnt treated with short worth.

If it wasn’t Trump wouldn’t have been elected twice. Action dictates whether ppl actually give a damn and a few protests and riots within the 30+ ive been alive screams collectively America (specifically white America) doesnt care

What you want doesn’t happen anywhere in the world. You’re giving others an impossible goal that no one has achieved. You’re fucking ridiculous

School shootings dont happen anywhere else in the world but with your logic we shouldn’t be upset and call a spade a spade
