Is it possible for a #Google Account to be randomly set to be deleted without human consent? Happened to someone I know, they said they haven’t made the account deletion, yet Google deleted it. Luckily I manage to recover it as #DataRetention exists, it was only 15 minutes or so when I saw the email.

    Google announced that they’d start deleting inactive accounts a while back. If they hadn’t logged in for a while, that’d be plausible.

    Yes as far as I know google deletes what they consider inactive accounts all the time, as well as accounts they think have breached their terms and conditions… Usually though they send several warnings before doing so, but if someone didn’t give them any alternate contact info they may not receive them.

    An inactive Google Account is an account that has not been used within a 2-year period. Google reserves the right to delete an inactive Google Account and its activity and data if you are inactive across Google for at least two years.

    This policy applies to your personal Google Account.
