Agreed. Without context, it seems like they were saying “They had a lot of options for where they could have gone, but still went the one direction they shouldn’t have.”
Ah yes, the fifth cardinal direction, “abroad”.
He either moved around in the environment or left it completely.
Or he stayed perfectly still.
At least we know he didn’t go straight west, nor straight south.
Unless “abroad” is in one or both of those directions 🤔

- up or down
- sideways
- back or forth in time
- with the wind
- hiding
- just vanishing
- gone for good
- gone for a walk
- other realities / timelines / simulations (maybe recovery from backup is still possible)

Nobody ever goes up or down, in fact the mere idea of it is preposterous.
