    If there’s one thing I disagree with it’s your generalisation of Lemmy, unlike Reddit or other centralised social media, there is no overarching culture and ethos that you can sum up in one specific description. Because of its federated nature, you cannot predict the mentality of Lemmy users, every instance is its own thing, and there may be so many reasons why someone would use Lemmy

      There aren’t anywhere near enough of us here for there not not be an “overarching culture and ethos”. There are few places on the Internet more ideologically consistent than this, frankly. Self-selection is a powerful force.

      Is 10% a generalization? I dunno, it’s just personal experience. Sorry you feel the need to defend the other Lemmings. I just kinda meant it as a joke anyway.

      Yeaaah I don’t exactly buy that. The foss and linux community in general has a massive share here, independent of instance. Also socialism or anti-corporation / anti-capitalism is extremely prevalent.
