A lot of restaurants add a dab of pancake batter to scrambled eggs to help make them fluffy. In that case there’s some leavening in the batter. I guess a touch of plain flour would add a little body to it? I wonder if self rising flour would be a better choice for fluff?
When I was a kid, the shitty dentist we went to constantly shamed me about not doing a good job with my teeth and drilled and filled everything he could. We eventually went to a better dentist, but then I ultimately ended up with damage from orthodontics, followed by a couple decades of poverty and depression. I can’t even describe the kind of anxiety I have over the thought of dental work. Yeah, my mouth is crap now, but I floss multiple times a day and brush regularly. It’ll probably cost more than what I have in my retirement fund to fix my teeth.
BTW - when my kids were little I had a conversation with their dentist about the shape of teeth. Sounds like I was genetically fucked from the start with deeply grooved teeth that are extremely difficult to avoid cavities. So fuck my childhood dentist for seeding that shame and anxiety.
I’m 52 and can’t be bothered with the waste of time. I will occasionally shave because it does feel nice for a bit afterwards. Honestly, same goes with my pits. In all fairness though, I’m fair skinned with lighter colored body hair that isn’t all that thick. EXCEPT for the motherfucking chin hairs. Those damn things I curse at each and every one that I rip from my face.
That said, people should do whatever the fuck they feel comfortable with in regards to their own body hair.
I haven’t experienced this, but from what I hear if you start with cooler water in the bottom and have the heat set too high, you can overheat the pot and the grounds before the water comes to temp to actually brew.
The few times I’ve used my moka pot I’ve preheated the water in a kettle so it gets to brewing faster (based on coffee people recommendations online.)
My understanding is that if the food is easily swallow sized, they may unintentionally crunch as they maneuver the food around their mouths to position it to be swallowed, but not out of necessity. If the food is larger, sure they’ll break it up so they can swallow it easier. But by nature, cats aren’t animals that need to chew food for grinding and digestive purposes (like animals that have flat/grinding molars.) As long as they can swallow it, they don’t need to chew.
Perfectly fine.
My cat had the same tooth removal surgery a couple years ago (he was adopted with a mouth full of teeth where most were about to fall out). He was on soft food for about 2-3 weeks before he started picking at his dry food again. Now he gets a portion of wet food every morning, and free feeds dry all day.
What I learned from the vet is that cats use their teeth mainly to rip meat off their prey so they can swallow it, and not really to chew. So if they’re presented with food that’s an appropriate size to swallow, they just swallow it.
👋
I’m bad about remembering.
Then again, I suspect I somehow may have ended up with the good gene as I have incredibly dry ear wax. On top of that I typically use antiperspirant instead of deodorant anyway, because I dislike feeling wet.
Straight water doesn’t make me sick, but unless I’m already pretty thirsty (working hard/exercising outside in summer) and it’s full of ice, I find drinking water unpleasant.
I’ll drink water when I have to, but I’ll drink flavored/calorie free drinks because I enjoy them, thus staying far more hydrated.
“go to self checkout or wait forever.”
On the unfortunate days I have to stop at the store when myself and everyone else are getting off of work, I’ve seen the lines at self checkout as long or longer than the registers.
I’m use a self checkout if 1) there are empty checkouts and 2) I only have enough items that I can carry. Sure - then I’m getting in and out. But if I’m pushing a cart, I’m going to a cashier.
What I appreciate about my Garmin is that it adjusts my step goals up and down to make them achievable. Miss my goal for the day? The next day is a few steps less. Hit my goal? The next is a few steps more. I get the satisfaction of reaching goals, but don’t feel bad about myself if I miss.
As a woman of an age dealing with unfortunate hormonal fluctuations, I’m holding myself to this. It’s almost frustrating in the way it’s paying off.
I’ve been riding the cycle of shitty sleep leading to excess caffeine, leading to shittier sleep even taking melatonin, leading to even more poor diet choices. I suffered through a day where I denied myself afternoon caffeine (stopping at noon, where previously I thought 3pm was close enough) and had a sucky day. But I slept slightly better that night. Holding myself to this, each night’s sleep has been slightly better, and I feel like I’m making smarter decisions again.
It’s still too early to say if it’ll be a long term solution, but this last week I’ve started taking small doses of l-theanine. It’s the stuff in tea that’s supposed to help you relax. I found 200mg chewable tablets that I break into 1/4-1/3 pieces. I take a little in the morning and some before bed, and am overall feeling more relaxed. I’ve slept beautifully the last few nights without melatonin, but with my track record I want to see that hold a good month before guiding the l-theanine all the credit.
Many have upgraded to extra comfy recliners, some with pairs of seats you can raise the center arm rest and get cozy. With less than half the seats that they used to have, it’s far more comfortable.
That’s just focus. They caught him in his third minute of restaurant.
Yeah, if the take away is that we need to cut out all fats, salt and sugar, then we’re missing out on basic nutritional needs. Our bodies REQUIRE fat, salt, and sugar to function properly and for overall health, just in reasonable amounts.
I have my cat’s moist food breakfast set in a timed feeder to open an hour before I wake up, then his “robot” feeder spits dry food at him throughout the day.
Now I only get bitched at for pets 🥰.
Is my one life really more important than multiple other peoples?
I’m not saying your life is more important than multiple others, I’m pointing out the risk you’re asking others to take. If the person you’re asking to take that risk has responsibility to their own family, children, possibly elder family members, then we’re still discussing impacting the lives of multiple people on both sides of the fence.
I agree that testing like this is shit, but until that’s changed or at least somehow improved, then “just lie about it” is an unrealistic expectation.
Ok, would you be willing to gamble your career and freedom on her word that she tested dirty because of eating a salad?
Because your name would be on the paperwork and one of the first individuals pulled in if something questionable happens a year from now and they start auditing. That’s what you’re suggesting other people do with their lives.
Plenty have been fighting for it, but there’s an uphill battle against “but that’s socialism and socialism is evil!” and those that personally benefit financially who stand in the way.
I radially dice my onion. To me it seems like the horizontal and vertical cuts leave more uneven bits considering the layers already present. I angle my “vertical” cuts towards the center, then start chopping.
