(Young) people often idealize the idea of going off grid or starting an organic farm or starting a commune to get out of corporate, but how connected is their fantasy to reality if their biggest hunt and harvest is a supermarket delivery app? That being said, knowing basic skills that may fall into the tradwife range (cooking, cleaning, sewing etc) can give you that ounce of freedom from super systemic dependence to build a realistic life venturing outside the confines of cyclical capitalism.

I go with more hardy food options (ie: potatoes, onions, carrots) that don’t need refrigeration. Fresh herbs can be dried for long lasting tea or spice ingredients. Also just for the ease of cooking basic dishes that can be made into a variety of things (boiled chicken, mashed potatoes, baked beans) are helpful to have and use as well.

Check out passive vs active suicidal ideation. The frequency of jokes sounds alarming, although I’m not sure if the intent is there.

The only thing I’m looking forward to is the possibility of OLED in a MacBook next year.
