if you devalue trans people in any way, including nb people, please block me
I respectfully request that you not refer to me using slurs
It would be nice if you could link some of these sources. There are a lot of people, myself included, who’d rather die than click someone’s YouTube link.
This shouldn’t need a source though, really. My source for knowing billionaire philanthropy is bullshit is “thinking about it for five seconds.”
Dear people who tell LGBT+ people that we shouldn’t care what some right-wing nutters think:
This is why we have to care. What they think does affect us, unfortunately.
Both of these problems are capitalism
Karl Marx had some great ideas. It’s too bad everyone who identifies as a Marxist has such a twisted worldview.
We can have different political views, but we have one view. The one view is we’re the finest, the greatest nation in the world. We should focus on that. And we should focus on dealing with our problems and coming together … and stop the rancor. We have to bring the nation together.
I don’t think any amount of togetherness is going to stop Palestinians from being slaughtered. And “greatest nation in the world”? Come on…
Your comment is a perfect example of the pants-shittingly off-topic LGBTphobic nonsense I was receiving in the other thread, so thanks for proving my point.
You … you do realize that trans people and other “queerer” people than me engage in same-sex marriage too, right? And that it’s objectively homophobic for a policy to exist forbidding same-sex marriage while permitting heterosexual marriage? And that not all trans people are poly? I know people that fit all of the above, and every one of them deserves validation, and it would be unfathomably LGBTphobic for me to arbitrarily determine which ones are “queer enough” to be part of the community. You don’t see the problem with this line of thinking, with your entire statement? Of course you do, you’re just being deliberately cruel for your own amusement.
There it is, folks. Exhibit A

I’m unsubscribing immediately! And I blocked and reported that user, too.
My love is for all the LGBT+ community, and for the straight cis community as well. I just want equity. For anyone who had to read that homophobic comment above, just know that I do care, and I’m here for you.
Thought I should add it was them informing me that certain countries banning same-sex marriage while endorsing heterosexual marriage is just fine, actually. They espoused an objectively homophobic belief, and when I referenced my own marriage, they switched to calling me ignorant about anarchism. There are anarchist texts exploring the issue and some of the potential problems with traditions like marriage, but it’s not dogma. Nor do I view my own relationship as hierarchical.
TL;DR They were being objectively homophobic.
I can’t speak about lemmygrad since the instances I’m on all defederate from it, but Hexbear users have a reputation for being generally aggressive, grating, and immature. It’s like that kid in class who keeps interrupting the teacher because they think they’re funny and clever. e.g., some were screaming at me that I can’t be an anarchist and I know nothing about anarchism since I’m married, replying with third-grade tier memes for some confusing reason
The term “work family” always seems like a huge red flag.
I’m uncomfortable with Meta being involved
Because most of us dislike violence, even when it’s necessary and justified.
Meanwhile, the rich have no problem using violence against us to protect their hoarded wealth or if they can profit from it in the slightest.
There’s a popular conspiracy theory that Tor is a FBI/CIA honeypot
I assume that’s what this is about
But based on my understanding of Tor, you are correct. I always disconnect from my VPN when using Tor
I finally got my own modem – the SB8200 – so I finally feel like I’m free of the grasp of that horrible experience. Thanks for your help!
Which is great when people use a phone call in situations where an immediate response is warranted – not so great when I realize I’ve had the device occupying one of my hands and my attention for 10 minutes, and the speaker has yet to make a point
There are certain people who when I see calling, I just won’t pick up. On the other hand, when the phone rang at 4am and it was my brother, I knew something terrible had happened. If he had been a frequent caller/offender, I’d have silenced and ignored the call, but I’m really thankful that I picked up. It’s like a “boy who cried wolf” situation.
If the idea of consulting a list and calling ahead to a restaurant is too hefty of a concept for you to hold onto, then yes I can see why there’s going to be a disconnect. Let’s just go our separate ways, and I feel confident that eventually you’ll get there.
hasn’t at least had a McDonald’s shake or something
What they’ve done in the past is irrelevant. If they choose to forgo Nestle products from this day forward, then it is possible.
Are you legally mandated to go shop at the grocery store? No?
I never argued that one was legally mandated to shop at a grocery store. Whether one shops at a grocery store or not, one can consult a list and therefore not buy Nestle products. This is quite simple.
Then why would you posit that response?
Just as an example of how it is possible not to buy certain products, regardless of how ubiquitous they are.
Oh sorry I didn’t realize we are legally mandated to eat out at places that use Nestle products, my bad.
The statement that it’s impossible is entirely wrong.
This whole thread is weird. I think it’s hilarious how people are arguing with you, saying it’s impossible and then linking sites that list every brand owned by Nestlé. You’d think it would occur to them that if one is able to consult a list, that makes it possible to avoid Nestlé products, since one can merely consult the list.
I think there are some synapses not firing here 😅
I became hyper aware of it the first time I tried using Tik Tok, and I was served nothing but alt-right hate videos. Obviously, search engines aren’t usually quite so obvious, but for instance, people in my location are certainly more likely to net results connected to far-right ideas and agencies, because of the interests of people who live here.
I don’t like that idea at all. Search engines should only respond to deliberate input from the user imo. I know that’s a big ask for people to acclimate to appending “in [location name]” if they expect location specific results, but the convenience of just saying “hey Google, restaurants near me” is not worth the consequences.
Unfortunately, almost all search engines are complicit, including supposedly privacy friendly ones like Kagi, Qwant, and Startpage. I’m no longer recommending those to people. SearXNG and Mojeek are the only ones that don’t lean into the algorithmic and locational fuckery, but even that’s with a lot of tweaking the settings.
It’s no great mystery why things like fascism are on the rise. And people will say I’m in the minority for caring about this, and … yeah, that’s the problem.
True, in a better system, we’d have superior solutions to posterior cleaning than the barbaric, wasteful method of using paper
Edit: and better autocorrect as well
