Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was your number one favorite website 'back in the day', that is now defunct?
8·2 months agoWay way way back in the late 90s I visited slashdot multiple times a day. I know it’s still around but it is nothing like the commander taco days

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Would you trust an open source software maintained by a developer who you disagree with politically (or otherwise don't like the developer)?
1·3 months agoGranted the forms of mfa available without a hardware key are far from perfect. But they are better then no extra authentication method.
A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week

Programming@programming.dev•Unix Co-Creator Brian Kernighan on Rust, Distros and NixOS
0·3 months agoIn my limited experience the speed a rust complied executable runs is highly dependent on compiler options. By default (from what I remember), rust includes a ton of debug info in the resulting program. With the correct compiler flags you can strip all that out and programs run very close to c speeds.
That is a lot of effort to say that you don’t care…

In order to improve your accuracy might I suggest:
alias i='sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /' alias s='sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /' alias sl='sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /' alias ll='sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /' ...Etcetera. It will make sure you are punished for typos

2·6 months agoExactly. I don’t know the expected life span of 3m 468mp but apparently I exceeded it in my environment and duty cycle. I’m still working on getting the residue off of the bed however, and I can say that where it stuck, and did not fail, it did an excellent job, even pulling off bits of silicone with the glue.

8·6 months agoCustom. It started life as a tronxy x5sa-400 but I think only 2 steppers and the frame are original still. I changed the bed to a 16"2 *3/8 thick aluminum tool plate about 5 years ago. It always worked well for me. Unfortunately the silicone mat I used doesn’t seem to be made any more. I’m going to try one meant for a creality cr10 S4. I may have to re-machine the mounting holes for the thru holes on the mat tho.

I think “technical” is a bit of a stretch… But who doesn’t like a good cat meme?
