The option of having a full auth trust chain would be nice for some security applications, but the implication that it could be made compulsory is terrifying.

Eurgh ! This is just INFESTED with horrible AI writing clichés. All the “it’s not X — it’s Y” and the extraneous lists, the absolute abuse of putting titles everywhere.
What a MESS of an article, all just to say something that should have been patently obvious to anyone who is not a brain-poisoned moron.
Don’t let AI turn you into this. Take a stance, stay human.
Where do you even see ads ? Use an ad blocker ! Haven’t seen ads online for over a decade.
I like Gnome’s apps, and I think I would install Gnome on any non-techie user’s computer.
But for myself ? I want all the options ! So I use KDE. Probably going to switch to a tiling WM, I’d like my whole desktop experience use tmux shortcuts, basically.

Do you really think that will survive ? It’s next on the chopping block with GrapheneOS if they keep going this way.

Humans may not be obligate herbivores ; nonetheless eating meat invariably hurts us in the short and long term.
Meet is like alcohol, you can get your calories from booze ; but why would you inflict that upon yourself ?
Eating meat is only deleterious. You may be able to stave off the visible consequences for a while, but make no mistake, it is eating you from the inside.
We were not meant to feed upon murder.
Proof ? Vegans are the only human group to be consistently healthy and long lived. We are exempt from many illnesses considered nigh-inevitable, even when genetically predisposed.

Can someone explain to me how cryptocurrencies are even in this fight in the first place ? How are they grabbing and holding people’s attention ? Are they staring at the graphs all day !?

I have an extremely simple solution for this made-up problem : Just don’t eat meat 🤷🏻♀️
What are you, a tiger ? No ? Then why do you put yourself through this, when it only makes you sicker the more you do it ?

Cool beans, unfortunately GrayJay doesn’t fucking work at all, no matter what I try and on which device.
So I gave up. I use the YouTube website via IronFox on mobile, and LibreWolf on computers ; with lots of extensions to de-bloat it.

Truly, the most noble in name are not the most noble of heart.

The only actually worthwhile studio they owned…

If this happens, I guess it’s Linux Phone time for me… I’m pretty certain GrapheneOS will be able to get around this abuse of power for a while, but it wouldn’t take much effort from Google to kill them too ; they almost already have…
Or maybe dumb phone time ? But I like browsing Wikipedia and playing chess and RetroArch on my phone, I don’t want to lose that just because big G$ said so…

No. Fuck the KOSA, it’s the equivalent of burning down your house to get rid of a cockroach infestation.
Meta should be liable for their algorithm, no more, no less.

So compass and straight edge is Turing complete ? Amazing !

I think there was a Japanese study that shown that pen and paper is superior in terms of memorisation even to handwriting on a tablet (in addition to the well publicised fact that handwriting is far better than typing for that too)
I wish we had more info on the subject. Definitely got me to switch back to pen and paper from my iPad, and anecdotally I think it’s worked out well for me.
I wish Framework had an option for a mechanical keyboard in there, although I understand that would mess up the whole rest of the design to accommodate it.

I am much more inclined to trust TeamSpeak, but personally I’d rather move personal smaller groups to Matrix, and bigger public communities to Discourse or Lemmy where they are properly indexed and searchable.
Can’t you “just” set up openvpn or something ? I’m not sure what CloudFlare tunnels do, I’m a bit of a control freak so delegating to CF always seemed like it’s against my principles or something x)
(Genuinely curious, idk how that stuff works cause I never looked into it)
It was never justifiable. I have never bought a single game over 60€, and I never will.
