As others mentioned, “gang violence” is generally a euphemism for non white, especially poor, people. I used to listen to Knowledge Fight(stopped after election not because of the boys, but didn’t want to hear Jones gloat) and during several shootings that involved black victims Jones dismissed it as gang violence.

One case I recall was a shooting in a school in GA that he was spinning some other way, until he found out the school was primarily black and the victim (who survived iirc) was black. He then just stated the kid was in a gang with no proof and dismissed the story.

Yeah, as I was writing it I thought the same thing. If not density though, then what do you measure as the… object itself? It’s more than mild, but Dolphins aren’t as effected, iirc. It’s pufferfish which has a toxin that can kill humans. While it’s possible to touch and be safe because our skin will block it, small scrapes or accidentally getting it in our mouth or eyes etc could be incredibly dangerous, where as dolphins use their snouts and mouths and seem to get just a bit high.

Oh I disagree. I used to listen to Coldplay pretty often and people have hated on Coldplay for decades. Some found the sound boring, and I recall accusations of them copying music from others, though I never looked into those claims. I welcome religious people and churches helping out, and I’m not going to say anyone should reject such help. I am saying, that as a religious or non religious person, directly giving to organizations that help specifically would help much more than giving to a religion. It’s similar to say the difference between getting ad revenue and Patreon or other direct donations. The latter is more effective.

Lastly, I will say there definitely is a critique of religion, in that many either way into a global fund/membership that donates to organizations that have contributed to where we are now, or directly do so themselves. Can I gaurantee every single one does? No, mainly because as I pointed out they have special rules where they can hide where their money goes. Some small unaffiliated churches may be completely clean.

However, those aren’t even the ones you are talking about, since you specified the large populations of religious people in the south. Those standard denominations definitely gave to anti LGBT, anti abortion, and donated to have exceptions in law carved out for themselves, which significantly contributed to GOP effort to stiffle freedoms. This is a common defense of religion, but it naively (or maliciously) ignores that secular groups help to protect people as well. Unlike religions, secular non profits are required to show how they spend their money, so the help is more direct and you can confirm if they are using the money you donate the way you want instead of some of it going to bigotry.

If it’s a tool it’s a bad one. You can’t even check if it’s working right. It’s like a tool you can’t check and just hopes it works the way you want it to.

I don’t see where they said to abolish religion. It was a call to people to stop giving money to religion. You can be religious without donating a single cent to religion.
