Trans rights 🏳️⚧️ (she/her)
I would say I am concerned when he is willing to capitulate on my rights as a trans woman. I don’t have any interest in him being the next face of the party
I recommend downloading the bypass paywalls clean extension for your browser:
Idk. The article says that even the people who were pleased with the meeting still don’t want him to win, “emphatically so.” And many still came out of it claiming he was dangerous and bad for the city
Basically I would prefer not to buy a pixel, but if graphene is that much better than the other OS’s I would consider it
Approaching the point where I need a new phone. Curious what would be better. A fairphone 6 with calyx or /e/ os. Or a new pixel with graphene. I’ve heard graphene is the best but the fairphone is very tempting
Wasn’t old enough to have any opinion of him but I just asked my dad who’s been living here since '89 and he thinks our current mayor is worse lmao
Elections are this November. A ton of seats up. Shitty center right mayor. Shitty right wing city attorney. Shitty right wing city council president, among others.
The current city attorney was voted in 4 years ago in 2021
I mean if you really think the right wing accurately portrayed a nuanced issue that’s certainly a take
Except that’s not really true. She didn’t run on that at all. It was a tweet from long before the election that the right wing used to tarnish her
Friendly reminder that Seattle’s current city attorney is a trump backing Republican who was elected all because Seattle at the time was too scared of a candidate who once talked about abolishing the police.
The author here is running for the position and if you’re in Seattle I highly encourage supporting him. We have a chance to drastically shift the center right city government that has plagued our city these last few years
The people showing up to defend trees at the city council these days are nimbys who don’t want higher density. They fail to see that adding more housing in Seattle will prevent hundreds of trees not being cut down in the new suburbs being built in our forested areas
I use this and love it
I’ll have to point out your disrespect too towards LeBron.
It’s fine if you don’t think he beats Jordan but to say he’s not even in the conversation is silly
This is one of the most insane things I’ve ever read
Yeah I’ve also been really frustrated by this attitude. My advice is to look for local groups of activists and see what you can do to help. Being part of a local coalition can be a very motivating thing and even just being in their discord or matrix servers or whatever can be a good way to get information. I found a local trans activist group that has a user providing daily political bulletins on what kind of stuff is going on around the city. Talking with these people and seeing what is going on feels a lot more optimistic and tangible than the stuff I see posted here
Oh for sure, and I do. I’m a big proponent of voting your heart in a primary
I am aware some states are adopting it. But until it is a common thing nationwide it doesn’t really remedy the situation. Yet.
Wake me up when we have a voting system that allows for more than 2 parties. Until then, I will try and push Dems left
Of course. I super heavily relate to what you’re feeling and I empathize. I feel ever since the election / inauguration my whole world view has shifted radically. I also have been at a lose at what to do with the information. I want to share it with people and show them what I’ve been seeing. But it feels like no one else wants to see it or can’t see it for a variety of reasons.
The podcast that this piece is from has been a really interesting thing to be listening to recently and it’s helped contextualize how I’ve been feeling. The 2 women are people who until the last decade or so were lightly conservative and the show has been them just delving into more and more interesting and complex topics. The audio for this episode is free. I think they do one free one a month. Def recommend checking more of it out if you’re interested
