It’s much, much more complicated than mere rehabilitation VS punishment/salvation. When sometime goes to prison for a minor drug offense—like this guy—what exactly are we “rehabilitating”? I seriously doubt he had a real addiction.
Perhaps for you. For this section of society I’m referring to, they would rather see this person put before their deity in order for ultimate judgement to be rendered.
In medieval England, executions were, as History says, conducted willy-nilly without any legal precedent. Starting with the reign of Henry VIII in the early 1500s, the death penalty became codified into an eventual, expansive 222 crimes. Some 72,000 people were executed in 16th century England alone for crimes such as treason, marrying a Jew, cutting down a tree, and (you ready?) not confessing to a crime.

A lot of people would like to go back to these times.

Foucault’s Discipline and Punish is a rather interesting read. It suggests that cruelty and suffering are the point of prisons for certain parts of society. For them, it is the prisoner who sinned and they must atone for what they did so they can get salvation, in this life or the next. Regardless of the evidence to the contrary that it doesn’t really work and that rehabilitation is much more cost effective.
I knew someone who didn’t see the point of wearing any, yet they had a noticeable “funk”. Turned out they’re anosmic.

The article in question points out this is more a center for international things, so one can assume that this is funded by the American branch.
Unfortunately the UK Census doesn’t split the major religions into its various sects, so it’s not that easy to judge how many Mormons are in the UK, the last number I can see is around 140,000. Which isn’t really a lot.
There’s an interesting piece on the BBC about this training centre in Preston: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64790111

Pray tell, whomst among us cannot say that they haven’t accidentally launched around 13 drones at territory of a rival major defence pact? Do they contain a payload or not? I forgot, my memory is so terrible.

Why do you assume I’m left? And am applying a purity test? I’m just pointing out words that left his mouth and felt happy at being published without attaching a value judgement.
You’re rather missing the point. The left right paradigm neglects another dimension of freedom. Most of the “both siders” want to equate authoritarian right wing statements with moderate left wing in order to create a false equivalency and implying that they’re all the same, and stuff like this shifts the Overton window towards right wing authoritarianism.
Certainly, he’s well within his rights not to discuss politics. Counter to your point, he’s actually been pretty happy to discuss his politics. Not just supporting Bernie but happy to call those who voted for the current POTUS “fucking morons”.
Complaining about cancel culture is pretty low rent and makes me wonder why he did.

Quite interesting that’s your interpretation. I didn’t include the whole article to sate your need for maximum context, but I did link it.
See, what I think is the problem with what he’s saying is that he’s been doing this "both sider"ism, which is nonsense. You don’t need to think one side is with the angels and the others are devils, but to morally equate them is naive at best.
So it’s interesting that the point you’re picking up on is when he’s talking about cancel culture, so a good question to ask here is “who do you think has been wrongly cancelled?”, which sadly the interviews at the time don’t much delve into.
I assume you don’t listen to Rage Against The Machine because they’re too political? Or Megadeth? Dead Kennedys? Pearl Jam? Bruce Springsteen? System of a Down? U2? There’s a political dimension to most lyrics, even if you miss it.

I hope Corey Tailor doesn’t do anything bad soon.
From 2020:
“I think that’s what’s happened, we’ve seen too many people pushed off the cancel culture cliff who didn’t really deserve it, because of this all-or-nothing quote-unquote morality that the left has.
“It’s so fucking full of shit and so hypocritical that it’s going to bite them in the ass. It used to be that there was a real moral center, honestly to both sides, and now we’ve abandoned that for the extremes.”

Originally it was something like Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements.
I think this is a bit of a backronym, as it refers more to “import” vehicles from Japan.
Would you say you were… out of the loops? 🌞 😎

Reading her wiki page, I can’t find much to differentiate the two 🤷♂️

It’s a bit vague as the government didn’t publish all details.
AFAICT the principle of this law is that the minister/department involved can override company decisions and issue instructions to those who work for the company in order to ensure customer orders are fulfilled. No actual ownership has changed as such, though this could be a precursor to that, but even though Wingtech still owns Nexperia, it has to obey the government edicts over those of Wingtech.

This is why I upgraded my Windows 10 laptop to a Fedora 42 one. 42 is obviously the biggest. And thusly better than Debian.
