At a news conference, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said the man who was shot was a 37-year-old white man with no serious criminal history and a record that showed only some parking tickets.
Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) said in a statement to Axios: “This tragic event requires a thorough and independent investigation with full transparency.”

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty said in a statement Saturday morning that her office is working alongside the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) to coordinate a state response to Saturday’s shooting.
“The scene must be secured by local law enforcement for the collection and preservation of evidence,” Moriarty said. “We expect the federal government to allow the BCA to process the scene.”

Residents are calling agents “Nazis” and chanting that all immigrants are welcome in Minnesota. Meanwhile, several residents are frantically trying to move their parked cars away from the area

The shooting scene is tense on 26th Street in south Minneapolis with dumpsters being set on fire, while Minnesota state troopers have arrested at least a couple of protesters who crossed the police tape.

Yeah, I feel like throwing tear gas grenades around a place isn’t exactly crime scene preservation best practice
Yeah, I feel like they’re going to go martial law in October no matter what, but in the meantime violence from protesters is just going to a) fracture the anti fascist coalition b) provoke retaliation from ICE that will hit bystanders
Things may get worse no matter what but violence is likely to make them worse
Good to know what their deflection is going to be, I hope journalists press them on the fact that the ICE officers had their hands on this guy and were beating on him before they shot him. If that pistol is his and he did actually brandish it, it’d still be a strong case for self defense, and either way this is just objectively shit police work. How tf do you put hands on someone with multiple people and still end up in a situation where you’re forced to shoot them?

A Bring Me The News reporter who was near the scene said an agent opened fire at a man outside Glam Doll Donuts at Nicollet Avenue and 26th Street at around 9 a.m.
Video from our reporter reveals that multiple shots were fired, with the agent believed to be just a few feet away from the man when he was struck, apparently in his chest.
The man was seen unconscious on the ground and responders were carrying out chest compressions.
Immediately after our reporter approached the scene, an agent was heard yelling for help and scissors to open the victim’s shirt. Agents told our reporter that they had immediately called 911 for assistance.
New video uploaded to Reddit shows several federal agents struggling with a man outside Glam Doll, during which a shot is fired, followed by multiple more shots fired at the man as he lay on the ground.

I wasn’t able to find any snapshots of that removed text, but it seems super plausible because they apparently had a reporter who happened to be on the scene before and when things went down

I’m guessing they told him that at the barrel of a gun, interesting that the optics of them refusing that doctor who wanted to do lifesaving care on Renee apparently got to them

I mean, fair, I definitely would be interested in more information about this if anyone has it, but the description fits, it seems like the exact sort of dick move this administration would pull, and its probably going to be impossible to get any more information soon besides just the loose descriptions we have, so I’d say it’s more likely than not that this is HC smoke until more information becomes available.
