Nintendo@lemmy.world•Pokemon Pokopia launches March 5, 2026English
3·23 days ago£58.99 (UK price) is the same price as Legends Z-A, despite Pokopia seemingly being a smaller side game. Even if the game is good, there is no way it’s going to sell well at that price to anyone other than die-hard Pokemon fans. Persona 5 Tactica (which I really like) did the exact same thing (full game price for smaller side game) and it did not end well, copies of Tactica still linger on clearance to this day for sometimes less than 20% of the original price since a lot of the launch excitement evaporated.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•the dog that poops rocks is my favourite Fire Emblem Engage characterEnglish
9·24 days agoSommie, the little, uh, thing that lives in a cave in your home base (the Somniel). You feed it and pet it, and it gives you bond fragments you can use to improve your Emblem Rings. Essentially, Engage is a giant crossover event and every Emblem Ring is a different character in the series that gives you different powers in battle.
Yeah, I was as confused as you were when I started Engage. My first game was Three Houses, which feels like the Oppenheimer to Engage’s Barbie. Even then, I love Engage so far. At its core it’s a very traditional Fire Emblem game, weapon triangle and all.

Games@lemmy.world•To the rapidly aging person reading this: GameFAQs is 30 years old, and people are sharing their memories of the venerable guide hubEnglish
6·24 days agoIt is funny how GameFAQs is so old I end up going to posts on there about the original releases of games when I’m looking for help with a remake. Props to the site admins for keeping it up this long, so many other resources have withered away over the years.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Sony WF-C510 connected on Linux, but never recognized as a headsetEnglish
4·1 month agoI have a pair of Sony WH-1000XM6s (similar sort of pairing and Bluetooth system although with the addition of LDAC) and I can confirm the Sound Connect app is not required to pair the headphones (works perfectly on my laptop with a Qualcomm Bluetooth chip and my desktop with an Intel chip, both running Fedora). It’s only for settings management and firmware updates through your phone. It might be worth checking if there’s any firmware updates for the headphones, and also try a few more resets. I used to have a pair of Bose headphones that had the exact same problem as you are experiencing, but it would go away after disconnecting and reconnecting a few times. It’s worth also seeing if you can pair with any other type of device in addition to your phone (Windows, smart TV, anything that can do Bluetooth A2DP) as it might be an issue with pairing to devices in general.
Out of curiosity how are you triggering pairing mode? If you are triggering pairing mode through the Sound Connect app, it might be worth instead holding the hardware button on the back of the case for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•Nintendo is releasing a Zelda Breath of the Wild vinyl box set in the West to gauge the demand for physical soundtracks there | VGCEnglish
4·1 month agoI really want this to succeed. I’ve had to import soundtrack CDs from Japan so many times for games I enjoy (Nintendo and non-Nintendo), so to not have to go through the import process would be so nice. I do wish Nintendo would follow the lead of other game companies however and release their soundtracks digitally on stores rather than just on Nintendo Music (which only has a limited selection). If you could just buy the FLACs or M4As off somewhere like iTunes, Qobuz, or 7digital it would save having to ship a soundtrack at all.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•YouTube Is Working With Nintendo To Make Its App Available On Switch 2English
2·1 month agoThe Wii had all sorts. At least here in the UK we got YouTube, BBC iPlayer, LoveFilm (later including Amazon Instant Video), Netflix, and Crunchyroll all to download from the Wii Shop Channel. It wasn’t the best experience, since the Wii tops out at 480p and most people used composite cables that had a resolution of 480i interlaced, but it was good enough for the time.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•YouTube Is Working With Nintendo To Make Its App Available On Switch 2English
8·1 month agoI was very surprised to see YouTube was not working on launch day. Considering how popular it is, I thought Nintendo and Google would have had it ready to go. Hopefully they sort it out soon.

8·2 months agoThere’s still a surprising amount of devices made by HMD (who own Nokia’s consumer phone brand, so you’ll sometimes see them as Nokias) that run Series 30+ (think old Nokia software with some very slight modern enhancements) but have 4G hardware to play ball on modern networks.

15·2 months agoI really want PostmarketOS to succeed, even to be good enough as a secondary device. The long term support and software flexibility seems so promising, but it is still nowhere near ready for most people.

I am so ready (when I find time to play it, damn the 3DS games are so tempting after I finally fully complete 3H)
How’s the build quality? Does it feel more like a budget or premium phone?

Nintendo@lemmy.world•Chibi-Robo! - GameCube – Nintendo ClassicsEnglish
9·4 months agoI’m glad Chibi Robo is finally getting a chance to shine on a more popular console. After the original game, the franchise was run into the ground so hard, so to even have this playable on a modern Nintendo system is quite exciting. Maybe if it’s popular enough on NSO we might get a full revival? Unlikely, but you never know.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•Nintendo-owned titles excluded from Japan’s biggest speedrunning event after organizers were told they had to apply for permission for each gameEnglish
7·4 months agoI don’t know why Nintendo feel the need to get so overly protective over displays of their games (streaming, competitions, so on). There’s been so many games I have bought because I saw someone play it on a stream or something and thought it was neat. What are they even losing out on? They are just shooting themselves in the foot here.

Nintendo@lemmy.world•Nintendo raises the Switch 1 price from $299 to $339 / The Switch OLED price jumped by $50 on Sunday, to $399.99.English
7·4 months agoThis does make me wonder how much Nintendo are subsidising US bound Switch 2s, considering the price on that hasn’t increased since launch (yet). Maybe they think it’s worth it to take a hit on it and try and make it up with higher priced software?

Nintendo@lemmy.world•The HORI Piranha Plant camera for Switch 2 drops to $40English
1·4 months agoThe interest in it probably evaporated the second that people found out it was 480p. If it was 1080p like the Nintendo one people would definitely buy it more.
