At one point I was very confused by the “emptying out mental asylums” talk, but after hearing him say something along the lines of “And you have the immigrants coming here from asylums, they’re literally sending us insane people”, it’s pretty clear at this point he absolutely thinks “asylum” means “mental institution”.

Unironically, this was exactly how the announcement at my old company went. Literally, someone getting paid millions of dollars a year basically saying “Yeah we made this decision on vibes alone”

My company’s policy is that if you’re traveling to other offices, that’s paid time. If I go into the main office, but then midday have to drive 2 hours to one of our labs or something, it makes sense I’d be paid for that, right? Same with commuting during business trips. So, if I have the ability to WFH, how is it any different? I’m having to travel from one office location to another.
