Haha yeah, but I think it’s important to distinguish between pollution and CO2. A bit of CO2 in the air is fine.

The amount of oxygen in the air is hardly changing and would support human life easily after climate change goes bananas. The amount of CO2 that is causing climate change is actually quite tiny even though it doubled or tripled since pre-industrial times. It’s still far less than 0.5% (the safe recommended amount) of the atmosphere. You could triple the current CO2 levels, which would be devastating for the climate, and still breath perfectly fresh air.

But what about the economy??? We need profits now not tomorrow.

That would probably not happen at a human scale. Civilization would collapse and nature would heal.

Extinction is highly unlikely. End of civilization perhaps, but humans are extremely hardy and versatile. You would be hard pressed to kill all humans in all biomes.

It already kinda works 95% of the way. But more often than not the last 5% still requires you to understand everything the AI did which can be hard. If it was you implementing everything, you’d already have the whole context in working memory. I’ve been learning better prompting and getting better at it. I think it thrives in typed languages and where the code base has clear design patterns it can follow.

Yeah but most gamers don’t care deeply about games. Meanwhile, most gay people care about about not being tortured, and other people can empathise with that. The amount of money in it plays literally no role in whether people would sign a petition.

That’s not true. The petition to ban gay conversion therapy achieved the same number of signatures within days. This is just much more niche.

Before we all started sharing our personal information on the Internet, it was common sense to, well, not share your personal information online. Specially if you’re a women, because that often just invites harassment. So gender neutral words like SO instead o boy/girlfriend help with that. You don’t have to use it
