  • It sounds like your wife is in deep grief. MS is torment, and she might be processing that grief for the rest of her life. She may not have space for a romance at all. That may never change. Sometimes, MS doesn’t let you get “back to normal”.

It is deeply crucial that you get everyone to counseling now, and not just individually but in spouse and group sessions. As much as you can afford. You have already started a new dynamic and grieving your old one is natural. But you can still support each other and it’s important to do the work and figure out what that looks like.

Partnerships can be loving and supportive and caring and not romantic. Sometimes it’s a phase that comes back to romance, sometimes not. But you need to be ready to relearn a lot of things and that starts with counseling.

Edit: And oh my gosh, I should have led with this - I’m so sorry y’all are going through this. It’s incredibly hard and I hope you get the help you need.

  • Uh huh.

I’m not “debating” you, I’m asking if you have anything to show for your party.

I know the supposed platform, and I know the presidential candidates. What I don’t know is why your candidate thinks anyone should give a shit about her when she’s nowhere to be found except when she’s deciding to run for president.

Either y’all aren’t doing anything worth celebrating or you’re bad at communicating your successes and both of those are pretty firm indictments of your ability to follow through on the national level with any of your stated goals. But that presumes any conviction in those stated goals, and again: I’m not sure I can think of any reason to think y’all have any such conviction.

  • Facts are important, but it’s not possible to come with only the ones you prefer. You need to make room for more.

    • He obtained firearms illegally, from people who encouraged him to take violent action throughout his upbringing.
    • He didn’t believe he was acting valorous, he thought he was going to get to shoot people.
    • It turned out very different than he expected and he did what he was conditioned to do, it was murder and it was in self defense. It was very sad.
    • He’s since gone on to gloat about it and threaten to do stuff like that again.

That people are looking at all this and thinking it seems like premeditated murder that turned into a panicked self defense (except with a literal killing weapon on hand, which he brought!) is perfectly reasonable.

To be honest, debating it feels gross. It seems more sensible to just recognize that it makes sense people would feel this way, and move on. Regardless of what the courts say, this conclusion makes total sense.
