I gave $46.50. My first political donation.
Oh god, I hate to be debbie fucking downer, but I am getting Clinton vibes from all of this :( Clinton raised so much cash in 2016 and was favored in all the polls, but electoral college helped Trump win, ultimately. Trumps 2016 electoral college win was legit, but there are reports the republicans and Trump cult are trying to rig that shit this time around

VOTE. No one should be complacent this time
The silver lining this time around is that EVERYONE is very aware of what a Trump presidency is like. Absolutely no one can give him the benefit of the doubt.
Either way, VOTE

They could spend nothing over the next few months and not impact votes. Clinton proved a candidate could have the largest war chest and still lose to a carnival barker
Clinton didn’t even campaign in several swing states they believed to be secure. I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at - you think she doesn’t need to spend any money and will still win? Or lose?
I vote for the Dems, but this seems like a bad thing, not something to be celebrated. We need big money out of politics.
Sure, that’s a nice goal for the future. But until legislative measures have been taken and regulations have been put in place you can’t afford to be moral highgrounding on this issue if you want to win.
…Campaigns cost money. Advertising, staff, transportation, and security aren’t free. It would be great if all campaign donations had to go to a central pool and was divided evenly between candidates, but I don’t think people would donate then.
What big money? Over 94% of these donations were less than $200. There’s just a lot of them.
Is that 94% of the people who donated or 94% of the dollars donated though? One reason I question this is because before Biden stepped aside there were news reports of big donors who were holding back demanding he drop out. Now we see headlines about record donations. Is it because there is genuine enthusiasm for Harris or because the big money let loose? Don’t get me wrong I’d support the Democratic candidate regardless, I’ve just always wondered about Harris’s likeability factor.
It looks like less than 40% are small donations. 60% ($180,411,935) is from large contributions.

I like her a lot and I’m excited to vote for her, but I still want to think critically about who might have her ear.
I think this is mostly from small donations
