How is it that a company that gets off on being crass and inappropriate is one of the most powerful and competent upstanding arbiters of fairness and equality of any company I’ve ever seen?

It’s beautiful and I’m here for it.

The people most interested in appearing perfectly clean often have quite a few skeletons in their closet they don’t want people to suspect.

A sense of humor is a survival trait for negative situations, and those who have one are usually really nice because they know how shitty things can be. That’s what I came up with at least.

stephanie mcmahon of the (human trafficking rape factory known as the) WWE infamously went on record to say (paraphrasing): Philanthropy is the future of marketing

This is no different than all the awesome shit that Bill Gates did as part of his foundations. Or (scumbag and pedophile protector) Mr Beast’s various donations and charity events.

CAH have done a decent amount of good. They also fueled an entire generation of white men to giggle and say the n-word. One of their former execs (?) also did some REALLY heinous shit. But please be incredibly wary of putting them on a pedestal just because they are currently doing a publicity event to sue a racist shithead.

Did you read their other comment? There’s no chance they’ve even seen a card in person with the way they described the game

Culture starts at the top. There’s likely more details out there that I haven’t kept up on.

But I’m sure they’ve “fixed it,” just like ActiBlizz did. And WWE. And so on. But yeah, after years of buying every expansion pack, this left a bad taste in our mouths. It’s still a fun game, but it’s hard to ignore the behind the scenes stuff.

Turns out doing the right thing has nothing to do with whether or not you tell dirty jokes and moral puritanism is bunkum. Whoda thunk

I think they’re a decent chance that’s what they mean, anyway. “What, no, what the hell would we want with your shitty social media software? Just give us the domain name.”

Honestly, if Twitter were rebuilt from the ground up, name and all, I could see people moving to it pretty quickly. Like, does anyone (real people. Not bots, not Elon, but real people) actually like X?

In a hate speech case with the Australian government, they are literally arguing they should have more time to comply with the subpoena, because it was originally lodged against Twitter, so “x” didn’t get served as long ago

    From the lawsuit itself:

CAH is the sole member of Hole Holding LLC

They actually created a subsidiary for their giant holes/useless land

Just got this email notification and was about to post it myself!

I was expecting it to be a clickbaity joke, but nope it’s just another case of big companies doing asshole big company stuff because it’s cheaper than doing the right thing. And, surprise surprise, facilitated by at least one local politician who profited off the assholery. https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/spacex-texas-musk/

He probably did it just to be an asshole. I hope they win way more than 15 million dollars.

Elon Musk is our worst immigrant by far, we need to focus on getting rid of that particular one first. He’s taking away thousands of jobs from Americans by himself.

Is there not some sort of squatters law that would force them to deal with it or risk having them stay? Hence the lawsuit to enforce their rights.

E.g now that they know, waiting for something to complete might be admission of letting them stay and be required to accept rent?

So I googled the term to learn more, and it varies by state but…

          Sounds like you need to

          • be on the property for 2-30 years
          • not hide that you’re using it
          • have people think you actually own it
          • be hostile in the take over (permission by owner negates this and disallows adverse posession)
          • be using the land (living on, working on etc)
          • legal owner must not be using the property.
          • must be continuously using the property for the whole statutory period (2 to 30 years) or it resets

Edit: and in Texas the period is 10y
