I would highly recommend watching the documentary Behind the Curve.
It follows a group of flat earthers. It’s a really good watch, a bit depressing. Gives you a look at how these people, who aren’t always the stupid people we think they are, got to where they are. How their lives and social connections start falling apart because of their belief in a flat earth. And at the end, how some of them realised they were wrong.

Not really how I recall it, but I watched it during the height of lockdown…so my memory of that time is absolutely going to be full of more holes than a cheese grater…

I’m from Vancouver, but I moved to the UK in November of 2020, watched it around Xmas/new year that winter.

So… different ship, still sinking 😭

Gets worse. I came over on a fiancé visa, which meant we had 6 months from approval to get married. It was over a month before I got my passport with visa back after approval, and another month and a half to get everything we had lined up for me to move actually rolling. So by the time I got there we had 2 and a bit months to get married. We had done all the legal stuff to get married before covid, as we had planned to have a civil wedding in April of 2020 after visiting her family in Japan. Obviously that didn’t happen. So we’re in and out of lockdown. They open up, the town hall knew our situation, and would call us to book a slot pretty much the day after lifting was announced. 3 whole times the dates we picked from the available ended up being the day of or one after locking down again. Finally another lockdown was lifted and we booked again, arranged a party and everything, then locking down again, again our date was the day after. Town hall called us up and said “we have one slot available on this Thursday at 11.15am.”

Long story short, if you like wild architecture, highly recommend visiting Woolwich town hall, it’s painted all sorts of garish colours inside, but it’s a lovely building.
