This might need some background…
Let’s be clear, John Bolton is an asshole:

That being said, he did work for Trump and accumulated some enemies doing so.
Trump initially pulled his secret service protection back in 2019, which President Biden restored:

This seems to be yet another act of petty retribution against someone who spoke poorly of Trump.
Didn’t know that was possible. Biden should’ve pulled Trump’s.
KGB playbook. Hands down.
Oh, the mustache asshole. Yeah, I remember him.
Question, why do former secretaries get secret service protection? Seems like a waste of money
In theory, one would want anyone who knows certain classified info to be protected so as to not allow those secrets to be obtained by the country’s enemies
Bolton had credible threats from Iran.
Sometimes it’s necessary when they are mega assholes
Because they get a lot of hate directed at them during the course of acting under the president (historically for US interests).
Why does former anything get it?
Because they still have valuable information.
Also, if former employees weren’t provided with protection than it would be tough to fond new folks to do those jobs.
What’s the over-under on some recently pardoned Redhat ridding Trump of this turbulent
priestformer National Security Advisor?
