The office’s “major staff turnover,” as one team Fetterman veteran put it, comes amid a tough hiring environment for Democratic staffers in Washington.

“I don’t find this as a surprise,” said the former Fetterman campaign staffer, who requested anonymity to protect their livelihood. “I think the staff is probably frustrated that working in the Fetterman office means you’re just working on Israel all the time.”

Since the October 7 attack, Fetterman’s office has ignored most of the issues he campaigned on, instead turning almost all his focus toward the Israel–Palestine conflict, according to people familiar with his office. At the same time, Fetterman has added a number of Republican donors to his roster, The Intercept reported.

Since Trump took office last month, Fetterman has become a sometime Republican ally. He was one of 12 Democrats in the Senate to support the GOP’s draconian new immigration law. At times, Fetterman has been Trump’s sole ally across the aisle. He was the only Democrat to vote to confirm Pam Bondi, Trump’s nominee for attorney general who helped spread the lie that Trump won the 2020 presidential election.

Dudes downfall is tragic. Hero to villain speed run, and it could potentially be blamed on his stroke, although I didn’t follow him closely enough in the beginning to see if there were signs

Nathan Robinson from Current Affairs had Fetterman pegged from the start. I remember people gave Robinson a lot of shit at the time sounding the warning bell early, but he has been thoroughly vindicated in my opinion.

I would like to believe in John Fetterman. But he needs to take his political cues from Bernie Sanders, who obviously cares about using the power of elected office to try to change lives. I am not convinced from Fetterman’s current campaign that he cares enough about his substantive agenda. If he does, he’s allowing himself to become distracted and bogged down in immature mudslinging. He should stop.

I’m from Pittsburgh and fr fuck this guy. His stance on Israel has been consistent, it just took major events for him to double down. He has done some real questionable shit in the past, like chase down a black jogger with a shotgun then cite “anxiety” for the reason.

The “issues” he’s ignoring that he campaigned on were like “epic hoody man legalizes weed”. It just sucks our choices were between him and fucking dr. Oz

      LOL

It wasn’t his stroke. He just did what Democrats always do, say really fun, progressive things during a campaign, and then rule as conservatives once they’re in office.

You’ve heard and known the single-issue voter. Now introducing the single-issue senator.
