Critics have said the US decision to retreat from the region has led to a greater likelihood of conflict

As Israeli jets struck targets in Iran on Friday morning, the US moved quickly to distance itself from Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to target Tehran in an escalation that threatens an all-out war in the Middle East.

The unilateral strikes indicated a collapse of Donald Trump’s efforts to restrain the Israeli prime minister and almost certainly scuttled Trump’s efforts to negotiate a deal with Iran that would prevent the country from seeking a nuclear weapon.

It also will probably lead to an Iranian retaliation that could develop into a larger war between Israel and Iran, a new conflict that Trump has publicly sought to avoid.

I’d be surprised if he didn’t actively encourage it.
Unless of course he wanted the privilege of starting it himself? Because a war could solve some of his problems, and pave the way for a MAGA dictatorship.

I don’t think Trump cares at all about what Israel does. He’s too busy planning his birthday

But what is he really planning? If USA is at war, he can call for martial law and end democracy in USA. And he has the military there to protect him!

The USA is not going to war. This is Israel. And Trump doesn’t actually control Israel. HE isn’t planning anything with Israel, except maybe Trump Tower Gaza.

If he wants to declare martial law, he can just do it if there is too much “civil unrest.” And at this point who knows what that actually means.
