the ‘joke’ is that they are spicy (jalapeno) because Poles are supposed to be stupid (according to the joke teller) and would eat them with bees still on them and get stung in the mouth.
Ah that makes sense. I thought maybe the jalapeños were inside or something, but honestly your explanation is more likely and I’m just kind of a dumbass
It is Polish. No idea why the dude even went there, it is a Polish bakery with wasps on the food. Not uncommon to see over there with some places that are outside or keep doors open.
Um … you aren’t getting the joke?
It’s a Polak joke. They are a bit out of style in the US. More of a 60’s thing. But it was huge.
Are you pretending that this isn’t happening?
There is no joke, the text is in Polish and this happens all the time in bakeries with sweet shit laid out like this. So you want it to be a “polak joke” when it isn’t. This isn’t someone being racist / nationalistic / making this about haha those stupid Poles, this is literally a bakery in Poland with wasps on it, which isn’t uncommon to see.
Um … Ya, there’s a graphic. And then there’s the post title. And together they tell the joke.
It’s ok. You don’t have to get it. It will be fine.
(Hint … there are no jalapenos in the pastry.)
Jesus christ, yes, there are no jalapenos in the pastry. Because there are wasps on it. Making it “spicy”. What your post and the petulant “hint” glosses over is the fact that it is a professional bakery selling pastries, with Polish text on it, Polish currency and Polish units on it (szt). What it glosses over is the fact that had the text been in German, it would’ve been a German spicy pastry. Had it been in Greek, it would’ve been a Greek spicy pastry.
As I said, I have seen this EXACT thing hundreds of times in Poland, it isn’t anything new and it isn’t a “haha Polak so stoopid” joke.
So chill out and stop being outraged just to be outraged.

I’m not personally familiar with these jokes, but the signage does appear to be Polish or some similar language. This may not have been the intent?

Ah lol I wouldn’t have viewed this as a “stupid poles” joke because I lack the context and have often called food with bees on them spicy.
But, if it’s a thing, I guess it’s a thing.

I took thought it was actually jalapenos on the inside and wondered why wasps would be attracted if it was spicy and not sweet
Yeah, I also was like dang, I didn’t know wasps were attracted to jalapenos, that is interesting! Some days I am dumb
Fuk me. I’m of slavic descent and have heard a lot of polish jokes, but I had no idea what was going on here. Thanks for the explanation.
The text on the pastry is literally Polish. It is a pastry in a Polish bakery. You don’t need to be outraged on behalf of someone else.

Lol. Nobody is outraged. Its a shitty joke in the shitpost comm. We come here to do that. Accept it.
It is not a “polak joke” in any way, but you do you.
As an American, I can say most Americans barely know Poland exists. They know the name and little else.
